Today me and my sister were talking about the topic of women named Judy who have "issues." Anyway, we came around to the most famous of all Judys, and that is of course, Judy Blume.
Turns out Trish never read "Blubber." When I asked her why, her answer was: "It's too mean-spirited."
There it is. Blubber= mean-spirited.
We're OK with "Superfudge" and "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." But no on the "Blubber" and whatever that one was about Sheila the Great. Sheila, as drawn on the cover of the book, had big nostrils and bad pants.
